Doctor Who?
| I have no fancy letters behind my name.
Like, well like…
PHD, Doctorate of this or that…
You know what I mean. Those letters that make you very expensive to listen to. |
 |
I have no letters, other than the ones that spell my name. I have a long name. Friends call me George many letters. Letters that describe a life full of PHD stuff.
Barack Obama , the first African-American nominee of a major party, argues that his life experience…makes him the best candidate to change politics as usual. The New York Times
Well, I might not make that claim about life experiences in the light of politics, but I will make that claim about some of life’s PHD stuff…
- Stuff like - how I stayed married to the same girl for 30+ years and not regret a moment of it.
- Stuff like - how to survive the death of your youngest son who was in his mid twenties.
- Stuff like - how to look after your middle son after a car accident led him into years of rehab.
- Stuff like - Watching your first kid on whom you made all your mistakes - turn into a responsible adult, a caring husband and a good dad.
- Stuff like - how to live out a parent’s life; have your kids tell you that they still like you, and now mimic a lot of you parenting example.
- Stuff like - how to go to work every day and support your family.
- Stuff like - how to look after your aging parents.
- Stuff like - how to make sense of your money when your paycheck does not look like Dr Whomsoever.
- Stuff like - God does matter, He cares, and that last Tornado we saw wrecking lives was not sent by Him. No, it was not an act of God - even if your insurance company insists on it.
- and…oh yes, of course, how could I forget…Stuff like - how to relate to the in-laws.
I do not have letters like PHD, but I do have letters that say I found some answers in life.
Some answers just add up to: “I do not know” or “I am sorry”. A lot of problems are solved just using those letters.
Well, now you get the drift of my blog. Hopefully, my musings and research will be useful to you.

| I am also putting together a database of good articles and web sites to visit in Urbizzness_Directory
Over time, this will be a carefully selected group of categories that the average person is concerned about. It will not be exhaustive, rather it will be exclusive in nature. Only the sites and articles with the least amount of “commercial noise” and the most relevant information will be included in my directory.
An ambitious project even at that, but as I write in my blog, I will add to this as well |
